Why the Saree Run?
The Saree Run embodies the limitless spirit of women. Our grandmothers once walked miles in sarees, driven by dreams of becoming athletes and attaining a quality education. Today, having come a long way in our transformation, we ask: why not make the Saree mainstream, breaking free from limitations?

Purpose of the Run:
The primary objective of the Saree Run is to raise funds to support girls’ education and other crucial women’s initiatives. Here’s how we aim to achieve this: while the run itself is free for all participants, we encourage each participant to leverage their networks, spread the word, and actively seek donations. In the past two years, with 150 to 200 participants, we successfully raised a total of $25,000. This year, our goal is even more ambitious – aiming to raise an additional $15,000.
Beneficiary Organizations
This year we are asking for donations to support two charities that support Women’s Education. 100% of your donations will go towards these two charities, as well as the local nonprofits Desis of Doylestown and Arva Yoga.
Shiksha Nidhi Merit Scholarship is designed for students in significant need of financial aid to complete their primary and secondary education. This scholarship will fund students who live in the district of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Currently an area that is not supported by international or national nonprofit organizations. Founded in 1976, A Woman’s Place (AWP) is the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. AWP provides a full range of programs and services to individuals experiencing domestic violence, their children, and the community. Learn more at https://awomansplace.org/

Arva Yoga 2024 Scholarship
In 2024, Arva Yoga will sponsor Scholarship for a woman student who is passionate about Yoga and Wellness and giving back to the community. The goal of this scholarship would be cover the entire expense for YTT RYT 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course. This is aligned with our mission of Arva Yoga and with the theme of UN's Woman's day #InvestInWomen.
